Once you install the firmware update (R9**XXU1AWA3), you have the possibility to run the action called pinching on the smart watch screen to zoom in or out that uses the camera of the synchronized terminal. And, since it is possible to take a photo from the smartwatch, we are talking about an improvement that considerably increases the control of the photos you take remotely. A great addition that, right now, does not have much competition in the market.
The compatibility of this new function
The company has reported that not all of its own smartphones allow this to be done. Thus, the firm confirms that all terminals that use OneUI 5.1 or later customization, they can be controlled with the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 when taking photos and zooming in or out. Therefore, it can be taken for granted that a large number of models from the year 2020 onwards will offer the corresponding compatibility (and, beware, there will be several of the folding ones that the company has already launched on the market).
Another improvement announced by Samsung
This is called Diagnosis of connected devices, and can be run with the Samsung Members or Galaxy Wearable app (you need to update them to get this). With this addition, what is done is a review that allows us to know the status of different components that are part of the Korean firm’s smart watches (such as the screen or the battery). And, in this way, to know if it is necessary to change something due to a malfunction.
To download the update we are talking about -if an automatic notification is not received-, you have to access the Setting up the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 and, in the Update software section, search manually by clicking on the button on the screen.
