Motorola China has officially confirmed the launch of a new 200 MP camera phone in July.

It is very likely that it is the Motorola Frontier, rumors of which date back to last year. The new poster published specifically mentions the 200 MP camera sensor and describes it as a “new benchmark for imaging experience”.

Motorola is expected to use Samsung’s 200MP ISOCELL HP1 sensor, which Samsung recently promoted in an advertisement. The sensor can produce 12.5 MP or 50 MP images through pixel binning. The sensor also supports 8K video recording at 30fps.

Motorola has also recently confirmed that it is working on a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 phone which could be the same device that will debut the 200MP camera sensor.

The Motorola Frontier is rumored to sport a 6.67″ curved OLED with a 144Hz refresh rate and a 60MP selfie camera. On the other hand, the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset will be paired with 8/12GB of RAM and 128/256GB of storage. Speculation suggests a 4,500 mAh battery with 125W wired charging and wireless charging that will vary between 30W and 50W in speed.
