Upgrade in sight for the app Xbox for Android and iOS. The novelty that immediately catches the eye in Microsoft’s communication concerns the introduction of stories in style Snapchat, Instagram and company, a completely new possibility for those who hang out in the social world but at the same time almost absolute novelty for an app in the gaming sector.

While, on the one hand, the social world seems to have taken the next step to the stories driven by TikTok (which recently established a record number of downloads) and its vertical swipes, the “old-fashioned” format of the stories seems to approach well in order to share game snippets with other users. Sure, it bites your hands a bit because Xbox games clearly have landscape orientation so they occupy one very small portion of vertical displays smartphones, but the rest could not be done otherwise if not allowing the rotation of the screen. Who knows if it will arrive in the future.

Stories can be created by tapping the button + next to the avatar on the main screen of the app for Android and iOS, allowing you to share game fragments, screenshots and achievements on your profile for 72 hoursafter which the content is removed exactly as it happens on social networks (where however, generally, the residence time is shorter).

Microsoft took the opportunity to announce a second novelty which concerns Xbox consoles, where does the Quality of Service or QoS which, on supported networks, helps to shield the gaming experience from any problems or gaps in the internet connection. The novelty is available in Settings, General, Network Settings And Advanced settings: Here is a new entry about QoS with two options, details on this support page.
