Design

This is a model of circummaural headband headphones that is quite conventional in terms of style. They are pretty, but nothing more besides having the option to choose whether to purchase them in white or black.

However, the important thing about the design is its construction, which, in this case, is very ergonomic anatomically speakingmaking it a pleasure to wear the headphones even for several hours.

We discover, under the main floating headband, padded but firm finisha second headband in plastic designed for a better fit.

In critical areas, a aluminum reinforcement which will multiply the durability of the piece.

Their memory foam pads are covered with very soft breathable fabricso that our ears do not sweat despite being completely covered.

As extra details, in the left earmuff we discover a microphone and both ear cups rotate with respect to the headband to achieve maximum adaptation and, with it, the comfort that allows you to wear the helmets for hours.

Although very subtle, we find RGB lighting zones in the shell of the helmets.

Sound quality

Corsair HS80 Max presents very good figures when it comes to the quality of the audio they are capable of reproducing.

They have a response frequency that ranges from 20Hz to 40kHz. Likewise, we find a very good sensitivity, of 116 dB, with a margin of error of 3 dB. Finally, we do not forget the impedance, which oscillates between 32k and 1 kHz Ohms.

To achieve highly precise listening, Corsair has chosen to integrate some 5cm neodymium drivers diameter. This together with support for Dolby Atmos It makes listening with headphones more than remarkable, allowing you to enjoy enviable surround sound.

As an extra point, they have volume control own, which makes the experience more comfortable so you don’t waste playing time.

Microphone

Although it is not the strong point of these helmets, its omnidirectional microphone located on the left ear flap. It is very aesthetic, consisting of a very thin flattened rod with curvature so that it is close to the mouth. At its end we find the mesh with the microphone itself. It has a game to move that is used to mute it very quickly and easily.

The figures that you will be interested in knowing about this are its sensitivity, -40dB (+/-3dB), the range 100Hz to 10kHz frequency response and its impedance 2.2k Ohms.

Add which NVIDIA you choose NVIDIA Broadcast to achieve a reduction not only of noise but also of echo. It is important to note that this improvement can only be used if your computer has compatible NVIDIA GeForce RTX graphics.

This model, being wireless, includes, as expected, a receiver that we must plug into the equipment from which we want to receive sound. We do it through a connection USB A.

Corsair HS80 Max also has a port USB type C.

You can make them work either by bluetooth 5.2 A2DP, HFP, HSP as for WiFI 2.4 GHz direct. Furthermore, if you want to change the communication path, all you have to do is press a button and the headphones will go from WiFI to Bluetooth or vice versa.

Battery

The battery of these helmets is made up of lithium ion polymer. Is integratedthat is, we cannot extract it, and rechargeable.

Dispose of fast chargewhich offers us up to 6 hours of life with a charging time of only 15 minutes.

A fully charged battery (takes an hour and a half) will last between 24 and 130 hours depending on the means by which they connect and whether or not they have RGB running.
