Xiaomi 12T Pro, a “Future Archeological” limited edition arriving in Europe

Xiaomi has made a special edition of his Xiaomi 12T in collaboration with New York artist Daniel Arsham: and this time we are interested directly, since the device will go on sale only in Europe. Arsham implements a sculptural style termed “Future Archeological”, in which he artificially recreates effects of “natural obsolescence and erosion” in his works. Over the years he has made a name for himself with his sculptures of “crystallized” Pokémon. The artist says:

I’m always inclined to bring my work into contexts other than those typical of the art world. I conceived Xiaomi 12T Pro as if it were a sculpture whose purpose goes beyond being a functional object; in 20 years the people who will have it will no longer use it as a simple smartphone but as a sculptural object, linked to a particular historical moment and which goes beyond its functionality.

As you can see from the images above, the customization will concern both the back cover and the packaging as well as the accessories. Xiaomi explains that the partnership will only produce a total of 2,000 units: they can be purchased on the official Xiaomi website (link in SOURCE) or on highsnobiety.com. The price will be €899, and pre-sales will start at 10am on December 5th. A €50 deposit must be paid at the time of purchase from 5 December to 11, the balance between 12 and 13. From 16 December, the smartphone will also be available for purchase in the pop-up store dedicated to the initiative which will open in Berlin.

The technical specifications of the smartphone are exactly identical to those of the standard model, and of course the memory cut is the most generous one – 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. Let’s recap the general technical sheet:
