Punctual as a clock, Google has just released stable Android Auto 11.3, exactly one week after Android Auto 11.3 beta and exactly two weeks after the latest Android Auto 11.2. As such, it is already possible update to this version directly from Google Playwithout needing to use APK or be part of the beta program.

As usual, We have tested Android Auto 11.3 in search of new features and surprisingly on this occasion we have found a fairly clear one: message summaries with AI appeared, something that we already knew was on the way and Samsung announced as part of the Galaxy AI package, but which also reaches those who have other brands of phone.

Now with message summaries

Android Auto is updated literally every week and it is not always possible to find that something has changed. On this occasion, it was not necessary to dive too far to see differences, since in the Android Auto settings an option already appeared that was not there before: Play AI-generated message summaries.

As its name indicates, this new feature implies that the Assistant is responsible for making a summary of pending messages in a conversation, instead of reading them all one by one. It is a very good idea because if you have many pending messages, having the Assistant read them all one by one, in addition to being able to distract you, it will probably be difficult for you to follow the thread.

Summary

As is often the case with these types of AI functions, in our tests the Assistant there has been a bit of a mess with the languages and he narrated a text to us in Spanish with English pronunciation explaining that he would proceed to summarize a string of messages for us after we played on Read aloud in the notification.

To test it, I sent a tirade of messages telling a story and the Wizard’s summary was pretty good, but in english. Unfortunately, this is going to be the trend to follow in AI functions and we can only cross our fingers that it works just as well in Spanish and without making a mess with the languages.

For the rest, we do not find any other changes in Android Auto 11.3, although it is expected that some will be included internal error correction required. Google, for its part, has not updated the list of known Android Auto bugs.

Android Auto 11.3 is already being distributed through Google Play, so it is possible that it has already been updated on your mobile. The new version is version 11.3.640604 and These are the steps to update:

  • First, check which version of Android Auto you already have, as it may have been updated without you knowing.
