Regarding the Redmi Note 12 and Redmi Note 12 5G, the new models maintain a fairly similar design that does not clash with Xiaomi’s highest range either. Straight edges for contours, combination of plastic materials, splash resistance with IP54 certification and fingerprint reader under the screen in the case of the Redmi Note. The Redmi Note 13 5G does anchor the fingerprint reader to the side, as was the case with last year’s models.

In terms of screen, both the Redmi Note 13 and its 5G version offer a 6.67-inch AMOLED panel with a hole in the upper central part to make room for the 16 megapixel selfie camera. Refreshment up to 120 Hz and clear differences in brightness: the 4G variant goes up to 1,800 nits, the Redmi Note 5G stays at 1,000 nits.

For raw power, Xiaomi once again relies on Qualcomm, although also on MediaTek: Snapdragon 685 for the Redmi Note (no variations) and Dimensity 6080 for the Redmi Note 5G (in principle it is an improvement over the Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 of the Redmi Note 12 5G). Base storage goes up with variations of 128 and 256 GB; with 6 and 8 GB of RAM memory. Both offer space expansion via micro SD: its dual SIM tray is hybrid; so you have to choose: either two simultaneous SIMs or Sim and SD.

The photographic aspect raises the numbers with a 108 megapixel camera as the main one that goes to both models. Sufficiently bright on paper thanks to the f/1.75 aperture that is complemented by an 8-megapixel secondary camera with a wide-angle lens. The third camera is the usual filler, the 2 megapixel macro. Surely as unusable as in other models.

To complete the list of options, both phones offer 5,000 mAh battery with 33W fast charging (charger included), they maintain the infrared emitter, both are protected against splashes (they are certified as IP54) and include a headphone jack. Interestingly, the Redmi Note 13 has dual stereo speakers, something the Redmi Note 13 5G lacks. Both support Dolby Atmos.
