WhatsApp will add a specific section to the group chats in which the requests pending approval of users who have submitted a request to join a group.

Requests from users who wish to join the groups remain in a kind of “waiting room” called “Pending Participants”

WhatsApp is working on this section, which will be called “Pending Participants”, as it appears in the latest beta of WhatsApp for iOS, beta 22.21.0.74, which is still unknown on what date it will become available as a final version in a new update of the application. There is also no official news of when this option will appear available on Android.

Along with this novelty, WhatsApp is also preparing other functions such as the possibility for the users of a group to know that other users have left the conversation or that they have been expelled during the previous 60 days.

Some of these features were leaked last August. Now it is known that it will be the users designated as administrators of the groups who will hold the authority in this kind of “waiting room”making the decision to accept or reject the requests that come from other contacts who have received the invitation links to join the groups.

This is some of the innovations incorporated by WhatsApp to moderation tools that will allow group administrators to manually process the entry of new users.

This feature is part of the reinforcement that WhatsApp has been adding to the tools that group moderators have for years, with a series of tools that are constantly evolving and that allow the increasingly popular groups to be better organized.

In this sense, we must also remember the recent development of Communities on WhatsApp, which bring together thematic groups or groups belonging to related communities.
