Renault leads the way in the navigation with Waze in the manner as comfortable and integrated as possible. Thanks to the collaboration with Google, which has allowed to integrate “for the first time ever” the Waze app in a couple of diamond cars with Android Automotive on board. “With this new experience, Renault drivers will have Waze’s real-time route, navigation and alerts, as well as settings, preferences and saved places, integrated into their car’s display.” reads the section of the Google blog entrusted to Waze, acquired almost 10 years ago.

In this way it will no longer be necessary to connect the smartphone via USB to use Android Auto: Waze is integrated inside of of the car multimedia system for now only up two Renault models electrified, will undoubtedly have a wider diffusion in the future. Waze is available with full integration on:

  • Renault Austral Hybrid
  • Renault Megane E-Tech electric.

To use Waze on the two crossovers just look for it on the Google Play app included in the OpenR link multimedia system or via the MyRenault smartphone app. Once installed, you can authenticate with your account, thus importing settings, preferences, saved places, etc., or create a new one.

As more Waze users interact with us on in-car platforms and we see advances in in-car technologies, it’s important to deliver the best driving experiences to our users, which is why we’re thrilled to announce our partnership with Renault,” said Aron. Di Castro, Director, Marketing and Partnerships at Waze. Having navigation, routing and real-time alerts from Waze integrated into the display of Renault vehicles, makes the driving experience easier and smoother. We look forward to bringing you this excellent driving experience to more users worldwide in 2023.

Nice the initiative designed by the Waze team for Christmas. Too bad though, and we say it right away, that the navigation directions for Mr. Claus (Santa Claus) and Mrs. Claus (Mrs. Christmas) are not available in Italian:

  • Mr. Claus with Waze set in: English, French and Spanish
  • Mrs. Claus with Waze in US English.

Waze’s “Christmas kit” also includes the pointer on the map in the shape of a sled or C Wagon e three icons among which to choose with which to show yourself to the other drivers of the platform, among Naughty (bad), Nice (nice) or Santa (Santa Claus).

If you are familiar with English, French or Spanish, to start the experience just set the Waze app to your chosen language, tap My Waze and select the banner Drive with Santa.
