Twitch, the well-known platform for live video streaming owned by Amazon, surprises creator partners by offering them the possibility that from now on they will also be able to broadcast live video on other platforms, although there are certain limitations to take into account.

With this movement, Twitch intends that the creators have it easier to grow their audiences on the other (supported) platforms where they are also presentand thus avoid the use of other tools, also having greater flexibility to reach their respective audiences.

But above all, avoid being tempted to leave Twitch, as some big-name creator partners have been, potentially inviting their audience on other platforms to stream within Twitch.

Giving up exclusivity on live video streams

Subject to the limitations indicated on the FAQ page:

We do not allow simultaneous streaming on Twitch-like web services that support streaming for extended periods, such as YouTube and Facebook, because we believe that interacting with two streams at once can lead to a suboptimal experience for your community. However, we know many of you want to use other services to grow your community, so simulcasting on short-form mobile services like TikTok or Instagram Live is allowed.

This will mean that For platforms such as YouTube or Facebook, it will be necessary to create independent live video streams within Twitch oriented to them, since live video streams that are being made for audiences on Twitch cannot be shared.

In any case, Twitch abandons the exclusive availability of live video broadcasts made by its associated creators, allowing them to bring live streams created from Twitch to other platforms.
