The mysterious thriller with Adrien Brody that catches the Netflix public

In the last week, the movie Clean It has positioned itself in the Top 10 of the most watched English-language films in Netflix. Why has it caused such a stir among users? One of the reasons is due to its protagonist, Adrian Brodya Hollywood actor who has captivated the audience on more than one occasion and tries to do it again in this film directed by Paul Solet.

“An ex-hitman leads a simple life as a garbage collector in New York…until he’s forced to dust off his guns and protect his neighbor from a crime boss.”, maintains the official synopsis of the thriller that has already been viewed for more than 11.2 million hours in 17 countries around the world. The story, co-written by Adrian Brody and Paul Solet, introduces us to Clean, a man who works as a garbage collector and lives tormented by his violent past and the loss of his daughter. Although his daily routine is the same, a sudden and unexpected event puts him in the crosshairs of a mob leader, so he will have to unearth his past self to take care of him.

Clean It had its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival in June 2021 and, a few months later, was distributed by IFC Films after the company acquired the rights. In January of this year, it was released in theaters in the United States and was later acquired by the American platform AMC + to launch it in May as part of its catalog. It arrived in Latin America just a few days ago, on July 17, through the Netflix.

What critics say about the crime drama Clean?

Currently, the film is among the trends in nearly 20 regions of the world that include Argentina, Colombia, Mexico, Chile, Peru, Uruguay, Bolivia, Ecuador, etc. As for the rating of the critics and the audience, obtained 46 percent in the percentage of comments from the specialized press and 56 percent from viewersaccording to website Rotten Tomatoes.

“Our hero barely says much, letting Brody do a lot of acting with those big, sad eyes. It makes the movie feel a bit like a silent movie, but not like one of the good ones,” wrote Leslie Felperin of Guardian. On the other hand, Kevin Maher, of Times UK, highlighted the presence of melancholy in the script: “Aspiring to Taxi driver. It’s not even close, obviously, to the Scorsese classic, but it’s perfectly serviceable entertainment with a melancholy heart.”

With a duration of 93 minutes and a script full of mystery, Clean It is one of the most recent works of the American actor Adrian Brody for the big screen and can be seen in Latin America from this month on Netflix.
