Despite initial reluctance to include advertising in its service, Netflix has finally been forced to change its mind and offer a more affordable plan but with advertisements to win back users in the face of the sharp drop it has experienced for the first time in its entire history. history, although in recent months it has managed to come back gaining new users.

In this way, Netflix joins other video-on-demand streaming platforms, which also offer cheap plans partially paid for by advertising. Recall that Netflix joined Microsoft months ago, which acts as an advertising partner.

The basic plan with ads is already a reality

As of today, the basic plan with advertising is coming to the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Australia, Japan, Korea and Brazil, joining Canada and Mexico, which have also had such a plan for two days.

In this regard, it should also be remembered that it will arrive in Spain on November 10 at 5:00 p.m., costing 5.49 euros per month, as we mentioned recently.

The new plan with ads consists of a plan in which users will receive four to five ads every hour, which they will not be able to skip, with an average duration of 20 seconds each, including ads both before the content and within the content , although newer movies, and children’s content, will be free of mid-roll ads.

In addition, users will not be able to download the content for offline viewing, and will not have access to the entire content catalog, excluding up to 10% of the content in this plan due to license restrictions.

And in addition, they will be able to view content on a single device simultaneously at 720p quality, coinciding with the basic plan without advertising.

Netflix indicates that it will not raise the rest of the rates, as Disney + will do next month with the arrival of its affordable plan with ads, which will be slightly higher than the cost of the basic Netflix plan with ads.

With the arrival of the new plan in other markets, users of Apple TV devices have noticed that the new plan is not supported in it, although it is a temporary problem since soon they will also be able to have access.

It will be a matter of waiting a while to find out the real reception that the new plan is having and if it is serving Netflix to recover the levels prior to the fall in users.
