The increasingly large toolbar that appears when recording an Instagram story has just gained a new button: Dual. The button allows us record at the same time using the front and rear camerasand there have been many who have found similarities with BeReal or, if we go back further, with FrontBack.
Instagram Dual is a fairly simple concept, as it allows us to show our reality on both sides of the mobile, using the main and front camera of the mobileand is available for both taking photos and recording video.
Ahead and behind
It’s an open secret that Instagram -and basically all apps- borrow from here and there. Sometimes it goes well, and other times not so much. The latest Instagram novelty that seems to be inspired, at least in part, by other applications is called Dual, to record with both mobile cameras simultaneously.
Its use is very simple. If you have the Dual functionality active, you will find the Dual button in the toolbar that appears on the left side of the interface (you must display all the buttons first) When you press it, we will see the rear and front cameras at the same time of the mobile: one of them large and the other superimposed. As always, you can change the order by pressing the change camera button.
Instagram Dual gives you the freedom to move the floating camera preview wherever you want and resize its size and rotate as you please, which opens the door for users to use it in creative ways. For the rest, the operation is the same as always: you can take a photo or take a video, leaving the button pressed.
When you finish your creation, you can edit it as usual with the rest of the filters, stickers, texts and others before sharing it as a story or sending it to a contact privately. Unlike BeReal, you can do this at any time and with preparation, or not. You choose.
