The big technology companies – and among them, especially those of social networks – have always had a reputation for being among the best paying their employees. But… is this true? Perhaps it was a reality a few years ago, however, they are not going through their best moment.

A marketing director in Meta can earn an average of 104,000 euros per year

Many of them have announced layoffs and are immersed in a major crisis caused by the international economic situation and the reduction in the use of the Internet and electronic commerce after the end of the pandemic.

Facebook has been one of the most affected. Its parent company, Meta, announced the layoff of 13,000 people last November and plans to cut as many jobs throughout this year. Despite the reductions, it has 87,000 employees worldwide today. In addition, its income fell in 2022 for the first time in history. But… is it still one of the companies that pays its employees the best?

As reflected on the website GlassDoorwhich collects the Salary data reflected by Meta employees themselves, the salaries in the company are still certainly high. For example, a software engineer charges 65,000 euros per month, an amount to which 5,000 euros had to be added in terms of bonuses and bonuses.

Software developers at the company can earn between €37,000 and €95,000 a year. The salary band is wide because the salary varies depending on the location and the specific responsibilities of the position.

An administrative assistant charges about 26,000 euros a year in Meta, according to the figures that are collected in the aforementioned portal. A marketing manager can earn up to 104,000 euros a year in the company, while a data specialist who is part of his team would earn around 41,000 euros.

A commercial profile, adding fixed and variable part of the salary, is around 50,000 euros of annual salary. It is surprising that the same amount -and even higher, since it can reach 58,000 euros per year- is what the interns also charge on Facebook.

For its part, a web developer charges an average of 38,000 euros per year, according to the data collected on the GlassDoor portal, where the data is entered by the employees themselves. Therefore, it is convenient to take these figures only as a reference and not as information from the official source.
