Apple launches iOS 16.2 third beta with iPhone 14 Pro Always-On Display improvements and more

Apple released last Tuesday (15) the third beta version of iOS 16.2. Initially available to registered developers on the test platform, the new version of the operating system should bring the new Freeform app and, as discovered in the new build, some improvements to the Always Active Display of the iPhone 14 Pro.

With iOS 16.2, users will be able to find the option to disable wallpaper display during Always-On Display (AOD) mode🇧🇷 The public has been criticizing this feature for showing too many elements — including the Lock Screen background — in an environment that should have been simplified to save battery power.

In addition to the wallpaper, it will also be possible to hide notifications while the phone is in Always-On Display mode. This will allow the smartphone to consume less energy by keeping most of the screen off, keeping only the date, clock, widgets and the lock icon to indicate that the smartphone is locked.

Another change coming through iOS 16.2 can be seen in Apple Music. The music streaming application will have a small design change in displaying playlists that have animated art🇧🇷 The “Play” and “Random” buttons will be translucent and their texts will adapt based on the background colors.

The iOS 16.2 Beta 3 release notes also include bug fixes in Health and Freeform, two of the operating system’s native apps. For now, there is no stable release forecast for iOS 16.2, but it is possible that it will arrive in November for all eligible models. Parallel to this, Apple tests iPadOS 16.2 and macOS 13.1.
