Arriving as a complete surprise, the well-known Asian telephone brand has just presented in Hong Kong its new ZTE Axon 40 Ultra, a top-of-the-range gaming-oriented smartphone and content playback, equipped with the latest Qualcomm processors, a complete renovation of its cooling system, a large screen and performance, a new improved camera system, and an ultra-thin format that will hide great potential.
And it is that despite its orientation for games and multimedia, we are facing a really elegant phone, with a rectangular format that makes the most of all its angles to distribute a waterfall-style curved FullView screen with a slope of 71 degrees, and an ultra slim size barely reaches 3.9 millimeters thick.
Starting with your first strong point, your chosen screen consists of a 6.8-inch AMOLED panel with a FullHD + resolution (1,116 x 2,480 pixels), with a maximum brightness of 1500 nits, a color coverage of 100% of the DCI-P3 gamut with a depth of 10bit and the ability to reproduce up to 1.07 billion colors. Although this will be where its gaming orientation stands out, since this screen has the support of a refresh rate of up to 120Hz and touch up to 360Hz.
Equipped with the new processors Snapdragon 8 Gen 1the ZTE Axon 40 Ultra completes the rest of its configuration with up to 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and storage of up to 256 GB UFS 3.1, ideal to ensure exceptional performance for any daily task, the reproduction of multimedia content, and games. In fact, the phone is equipped with dual stereo DTS speakers, compatible with Snapdragon Sound, which allow a more realistic and immersive playback at all times.
And it is that designed to withstand the most laborious tasks without sacrificing performance or integrity, this phone has a nine-layer heat dissipation system (which will hardly occupy a space of 36,356 mm², along with a dual channel liquid coolerwhich improves the design and speed of temperature conductivity by up to 400% over its previous model; and a vapor chamber built with a phase change graphene aerospace grade, capable of improving thermal conductivity and improving temperature distribution by up to 140% compared to its predecessor.
On the other hand, another of the great strengths of this phone is undoubtedly its cameras. And it is that the ZTE Axon 40 Ultra comes equipped with a triple camera system consisting of a 64-megapixel main lens, a 64-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, and a 64-megapixel periscope telephoto lensbacked by a powerful processor dedicated to them, which allows professional-level captures.
Digging a little deeper into these, both prime and ultra wide lenses equipped on this phone, will feature Sony’s IMX787 sensor, being the first phone in the industry to incorporate it. Thanks to this configuration, dual full-pixel omnidirectional focus captures can be achieved, allowing faster and more accurate focus.

Finally, as a small surprise addition, it is surprising that the ZTE Axon 40 Ultra has full support for hardware encryption, incorporating an independent chip to guarantee the security and privacy of the device.

With an announced availability for the international market, the ZTE Axon 40 Ultra will begin to be distributed starting next June 21available for purchase through the brand’s official website with prices that will start from 829 euros of its variant with 8 GB and 128 GB, reaching 949 euros for its superior model of 12 GB and 256 GB.
