As much as it is a video platform, YouTube has become one of the main channels for hosting podcasts. Therefore, the platform is launching this week a tab dedicated to podcast lovers.
The novelty is only available in the United States and is still somewhat raw, but the idea is to make the user only able to find full podcasts on the page.
“YouTube.com/podcasts” is now live linked to the existing “Explore” page and alongside: Trends, Music, Movies & Shows, Live, Gaming, News, Sports, Fashion & Beauty.

For now, the new podcasts tab is still somewhat incomplete, as it fails to list some titles and has some design issues. Anyway, materials are divided into categories:
- popular episodes
- recommended
- Popular podcast creators
- Comedy
- Crime
- sports
- music and TV
- Movie theater
So far, Google has not commented on when the new tab will be released in Europe, but the change indicates that the Google Podcasts application will soon cease to exist.
