YouTube, like many other social platforms, has also been adding shopping capabilities over time to its platform so that users buy items based on what they see in videos and also recommend their favorite creators from their own channels.

From the popular Google video platform they understand that there are strong links between creators and their respective communities of followers to the point that followers trust the purchase recommendations of their favorite creators.

With that in mind, and Bearing in mind that there are creators who also develop and sell their own products, Google’s video platform has made a series of announcements of special interest to creators.

Enhancing shopping capabilities within the platform

On the one hand, they announce that from next week, users from the US, Brazil and India will have a new shopping section from the Explore tab where they will find relevant content about products to buy, and that later this year it will also reach other countries.

On the other hand, creators will have new tools in the Purchases tab of YouTube Studio so they can better manage labels and the ways in which their products appear on their channels.

Also…

All eligible creators can now access live shopping features like the ability to tag products for a live stream directly from the live control room.

But the most relevant of the ads carried today is the association with Shopify, the platform where sellers can open their virtual stores without the need for technical knowledge, making it possible for creators and eligible sellers to link their Shopify stores with their YouTube channels in a few steps.

YouTube specifies that:

Creators who link their stores can showcase their products on their channel and benefit from Shopify’s real-time inventory sync so viewers are never disappointed to find a product out of stock. And for a more seamless shopping experience, creators in the US can enable on-site checkout so viewers can complete their purchases without leaving YouTube.
