The previous month we saw many surprises , from the S23 in the top positions to the top-of-the-range Google Pixels with even some OnePlus 11s while Xiaomi’s dominance in the top positions was increasingly consolidated. Will the top of the range with skyrocketing list prices still carve out a place in this special ranking? Will the new Redmi Note and Galaxy A have undermined the previous generation? FIRST PLACE: REDMI NOTES 11S 4G
In first place of the best-selling smartphones , no longer a surprise, we find the Redmi Note 11S 4G with as much as 26.8% of total sales of the month, the 5G version is completely absent. The average purchase price compared to January has dropped a lot, as much as €165 or €30 less for the 6/128GB version.
I briefly remind you of the most important technical characteristics among which stands out an AMOLED display with a maximum refresh rate of 90Hz, the 108Mpx camera, the 5000mAh battery with 33W recharge and a SOC based on Mediatek’s Helio G96 . True, the data sheet is starting to look old but think that the Redmi Note 12S 4G was announced a few days ago and it practically only has 2GB of ram, as well as a renewed design, perhaps not too much for the better and all this at a price list price of €289, out of my mind.

Second place in the March ranking occupied, not too surprisingly, by the Galaxy A33 5G which after a fifth and a third place comes in second with 20.2% of total sales and an average price of €210. The A33 always turns out to be a good buy for those who are now accustomed to the Samsung experience with the OneUI and are looking for a well-built mid-range that runs well overall without giving up anything. I also remind you that it is one of the few mid-range smartphones with IP67 certification.
Among the various flagship features , the AMOLED FHD + display , the 48mpx main camera with OIS which together with the selfie cam with 4K video complete a noteworthy photographic package are certainly worth mentioning . Finally, the presence of a SOC Exynos 1280 allows you to run the system more than worthily. Finally, the fingerprint reader under the display and stereo audio should not be overlooked . Impossible not to say that at this price it is one of the most complete smartphones that could be bought but with the Galaxy A34 just presented and already available for purchase, would you have ever expected it? Probably yes, considering the list price of the A34.

THIRD PLACE: REDMI NOTE 11 PRO 5G
In third place we still find a Xiaomi from the Redmi Note family but in these special rankings it is the first time we meet the Note 11 Pro 5G which takes the last step of the podium. Be careful because here we have a much lower sales volume, only 9.8% of total sales with an average price of around €258 , not so low considering the many valid alternatives that exist at this price, first of all the new Redmi Note 12 Pro which we expect to enter the rankings next month thanks to already super competitive street prices.
I briefly remind you of the salient technical features such as an AMOLED FHD + display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a Snapdragon 695, a 108mp camera and a 5000mAh battery with 67W fast charge , it is certainly not the latest discovery of science but it is a technical sheet that we still often see proposed in new generation smartphones and therefore it is more than sensible that smartphones like these sell more thanks to competitive prices.

FOURTH POSITION: PIXEL 6A
Fourth place for the Pixel 6A which for two months in a row remains stable in the TOP 5 and absolutely does not surprise us. Just a few days ago we told you in its proof of how it goes and why it is an excellent purchase for an average price of €338. The sales volume is 7.8%, not bad for a brand that is still little known by the general public and is practically absent in the large physical chains.
Recall that the Pixel 6A has a 6.1″ FHD+ AMOLED display with a 60Hz refresh rate, a SOC based on Google Tensor like the 6 and 6 Pro and the 12Mpx main camera with OIS taken directly from Pixels prior to the sixth generation. mention the Type C 3.1, not obvious in this price range and finally we have a 4400mAh battery.The salient feature is certainly the camera that has literally surprised us even a year now from the official sale.

FIFTH AND SIXTH POSITION: ALWAYS XIAOMI
Fifth and sixth positions are occupied by two evergreen smartphones in these rankings: Redmi Note 10 Pro 4G and Xiaomi 11T Pro, respectively with 6.9% and 6.1% of overall sales and an average price of €206 and €361 .
Redmi Note 10 Pro has an AMOLED display , a Snapdragon 732G and a 5000mAh battery . Even analyzing the other minor specifications, we do not find too much difference compared to current 4G smartphones and therefore it is legitimate that at the right price on offer it is still taken into consideration by users. Here as for the Note 11S I want to point out how the new Redmi Note 12 Pro 4G has practically the same hardware with a different design, all at a new list price of €329
Xiaomi 11T Pro is the exception, the mid-range “on steroids” performance side that at the right street price is taken by those looking for maximum performance but with autonomy and reliability typical of the mid-range. On board we find the AMOLED FHD + display with dynamic refresh rate at 120Hz , a very fast recharge at 120W which together with the Snapdragon 888 and a 5000mAh battery allow for high, very high level performance and autonomy. Even the photographic sector still defends itself wellif we think that smartphones in this price range still too often lack OIS. However, we are talking about a 2021 phone so on the update side we need to start compromising on the negative side.

SEVENTH, EIGHTH AND NINTH PLACE: SAMSUNG ONLY!
Samsung takes three of the last four positions of this special ranking with three Galaxy A, respectively Galaxy A53 5G with 5% of sales and an average price of €307, Galaxy A13 with 4.7% of sales and an average price of €143 and finally Galaxy A23 5G with 3.7% of sales and an average price of €220.
Galaxy A53 after many updates is finally a balanced smartphone , with an excellent AMOLED FHD + display, stabilized main camera with good level OIS, selfie cam with 4K video, stereo audio and excellent microphones as well as a 5000mAh battery. The Galaxy A54 that we have just reviewed is preferable in almost everything, but the €500 price list will certainly not help make it popular, at least for now.
Galaxy A13 4G in eighth place I didn’t expect it, clearly it is an entry level device thanks to its very low price but the technical sheet that tells us about an IPS FHD + display, a 50Mpx main camera with also an ultra wide angle as a secondary one, 5000mAh battery and overall not terrible performance thanks to an Exynos 850 make it an attractive smartphone. The design is definitely a plus too.
Galaxy A23 5G in ninth place turns out to be Samsung’s counter response to Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 11 thanks to a Snapdragon 695, 5000mAh battery and a stabilized 50Mpx main camera, a rarity in this price range. The feature that most of all makes you turn up your nose is the IPS FHD + display, not AMOLED, and perhaps this is precisely what makes the Redmi Notes prefer even if they are fewer and worse updates over time.

TENTH PLACE: REALME 9!
We close this special ranking with a Realme, the second we meet and always relegated to the last positions. The Realme 9 with 3.4% of sales and an average price of €210 offers a technical data sheet with ups and downs, for example we have an outdated Snapdragon 680, an AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate, a 5000mAh battery and a camera main camera from 108MP which we recently re-found also in the OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite
I take this opportunity to tell you that I have a Realme 9i at home that I use in emergencies and although it has never completely captured my interest, it is updated regularly every at least two months with the two majors promised by Realme that have already arrived, I would like to see software support of this type also on Xiaomi’s Redmi Notes.

EXTRA RANKING: MOTO G22
Extra position for the Moto G22 which, albeit with a minimum of 2.6%, manages to enter this ranking at the last minute thanks to a very low average price of €122. For a price very similar to Samsung’s A13 which we talked about above here we have only an HD + display, a 50 Megapixel camera and an MTK Helio G37 as SOC. The battery is still 5000mAh but the basic version starts with 4GB of RAM against the 3GB of the Samsung.
Motorola continues to commit itself to releasing new phones and with the right improvements, see the new Motorola Edge 40 Pro which we really liked , however it lacks a bit of aggressiveness and competitiveness on the mid-range compared to brands like Xiaomi and Samsung but the road is the right one.
