A lighter version of Outlook is coming to the Google Play Store. It will be called Outlook Lite for Android, to give the news is the same Microsoft that has included it in the roadmap as an app in development. Judging by the fact that the rollout is imminent the development must have started some time ago, so the Redmond IT engineers should be in the finishing phase.

The name of the app itself is quite telling, as any other Lite app will try to offer the most features of the application from which it derives engaging the hardware as little as possible and presumably asking less from data connectivity as well. Microsoft describes it like this:

An Android app that maintains the main benefits of Outlook and offers fast performance even on low-end products or on any network.

Lighter versions of core apps such as Outlook are particularly well suited for devices with low-powered components, typically low-end products, which are sometimes given to employees by companies or which are very popular in developing countries. Having a light, lite app of a service allows you to extend the audience of those who use it, or to ensure a quality experience even for those who do not have a particularly advanced, powerful device or one with a lot of memory.

For four years now, the Play Store has indicated very clearly within the information page of an app if a variant of the same is available lightquarrel precisely. Soon, even looking for the Outlook app, the Outlook Lite box will appear. A matter of days.
