WhatsApp has released a new update through its TestFlight beta program for users on iOS, bringing version 22.23.0.71 and build 22.23.0 (414317921).
The main novelty is the possibility to customize and use WhatsApp, bringing a new interaction option to the application.
Almost two weeks ago, WhatsApp brought the option to use an avatar for some selected users after the update 2.22.23.9 on Android. However, some bugs were found and the app had to temporarily disable the function.
A new beta update on iOS through TestFlight brought the functionality to Apple’s operating system.
As can be seen in the screenshot, when opening WhatsApp settings you will find out if the functionality is already active for your account. If available, you can now create your avatar.
After customizing it, you can send stickers with your settings or use the avatar as your own profile picture. It is worth mentioning that the functionality is optional and you can ignore it in your daily use of the application.
The ability to customize and use an avatar is only available to some users who have installed the latest beta version of WhatsApp on TestFlight and will reach more users in the coming weeks.
With the arrival on iOS, it is possible that the feature will be reactivated in the WhatsApp beta for Android soon.
