Google’s Street View can give you a trip around the world just on a computer screen. It is also a practical option for targeting. However, the 360º space view tool can also cause great laughter or arouse disbelief in users.
It was with this in mind that developer Neal Agarwal created Wonders of Street View. The site gathers various records from the Google tool and can consume hours of your day because the situations can be quite involving.
On the site, there is a random button that raffles the landscapes, mixed in scary, strange, artistic, hallucinating and spectacular themes. There are several situations, such as the three-legged man, the row of people with pigeon heads, elephants resting in the shade of a tree, the descent on a toboggan and even the International Space Station.
“I spent a few weeks compiling a list of weird and interesting places from articles and lists and then tried to find them on Google Street View,” said Agarwal. “Other people have also shared weird spots and anomalies they’ve encountered in Street View over the years, so I tried to find those and include them as well. I think I’ve spent dozens of hours on Street View in the last month.”
So far, 300 sites have been selected by the engineer, but his intention is to continue feeding the site’s database. Check it out here.
