Saying what we have in the fridge so that they can generate a recipe for us is not something new, many platforms have done it in one way or another in recent years, but with the AI boom things are getting quite perfect.
Imagined a platform that has been trained with millions of recipes from around the world, that knows how to reach conclusions about whether one ingredient goes well with another and under what conditions, and from that knowledge, generates new recipes every day.
That’s what they want to do in ai-recipes.softr.app, the definitive recipe creator, a place where the result is edible, good, original and cheap.
To prove it I have told him what I have at home right now: peppers, cheese, milk, jam, potatoes, ham and eggs. This has been the result (you don’t have to say it in English, by the way, it understands Spanish):
Example of use
Potato Omelette with Peppers and Ham
Ingredients:
4 potatoes
2 peppers
2 eggs
2 tablespoons of cheese
2 tablespoons of jam
2 slices of ham
2 tablespoons of milk
The instructions are in English, but translated would be:
– Preheat oven to 175 degrees
– Peel and thinly slice the potatoes.
– Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the potatoes. Cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the potatoes are tender.
– Add the diced bell peppers and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
– In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, cheese, and milk.
– Add the egg mixture to the pan and stir to combine.
– Spread the jam over the top of the mixture and top with the slices of ham.
– Transfer pan to preheated oven and bake for 25 minutes, or until top is golden brown and eggs are cooked through.
As you can see, the jam on top of the mix is a little weird, mainly because I haven’t told him what the jam was made of. Apparently he wants us to use everything we have, without removing any ingredients from the initial list.
If I ask him to make me another recipe with the same ingredients, he tells me:
– Preheat a large skillet over medium heat.
– Add the peppers and potatoes to the pan and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
– In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, and jam until blended.
– Add the egg mixture to the pan and stir to combine.
– Sprinkle the cheese and ham on top of the tortilla.
– Cover the pan and cook for 5 minutes, or until the eggs are cooked through.
Note that there is no oven here, although it is still an omelette. In this case, the jam is mixed with the egg.
Even so, it is clear that it is a good result, and that it can help a lot for those of us who do not have much knowledge on the subject and who always want to make the most of what we have.
It is important to keep in mind that the recipes are not public, they arrive by email, and they stay there until we decide what to do with them.
