The recently released ‘The Hidden and Unknown’, from developer ProX is officially the most expensive game on Steam, selling for Impressive price of R$ 5,390.99.
Described as a “story-based game, which aims to broaden its audience’s perception in the areas of psychology and philosophy”, we were immediately intrigued by the text-based game, as it struck us as something that, well, shouldn’t cost that much.
PCGamesN reached out to the game’s creator, known as ‘ThePro’, and asked why the price was so absurd.

ThePro reveals that he originally came from Slovakia and is now living in Switzerland, and that The Hidden and Unknown is a deeply personal game that depicts his own life story with some sci-fi elements woven into the plot.
Aside from the obvious marketing ploy, the developer also said the price is there because he “doesn’t want to sell his life for $20”, with the deeply personal aspect of the game’s story something he feels he can’t take for granted. a low price.
