The arrival of the Galaxy S23 FE in Spain has occurred suddenly and without warning, something surprising for a mobile phone like this.
When Samsung officially announced the new Galaxy S23 FE last October, for many people it instantly became one of the best launches of the year. After all, it marks the return of the FE (‘Fan Edition’) brand, one of the most loved by enthusiasts looking for a good ‘bargain’.
The original idea of the FE was very simple: offer access to the best Samsung phones, but without reaching the prices that the top-of-the-range models were reaching. To achieve this, some sacrifices were made, but maintaining an experience very close to the original .
Unfortunately, the Galaxy FE have had a very intermittent presence, so it was great news when Samsung not only announced a new mobile phone, but also a tablet and headphones that would complete a new FE range with good products at more affordable prices. But since that announcement… nothing.
Samsung S23 FE arrives in Spain
Although the S23 FE was launched in October in countries like India, for the Spanish market the company only stated that it would arrive “in a few months”, without further details. Since then, we have waited patiently for this launch to be confirmed, while the important Christmas campaign was approaching; In fact, rumors suggest that the Galaxy S24 will be announced very soon , so there was the possibility that the S23 FE would arrive along with those models.
However, today EL ESPAÑOL – El Androide Libre has been able to confirm that the S23 FE has already been launched in Spain , and that in fact, it is already on sale on Samsung’s official website . It is surprising, because the company has not made any type of official announcement to the press; Simply put, the official website has started selling the device without much fanfare, and an advertising ‘banner’ is the only clue that it exists.
And it’s a shame, because the Galaxy S23 FE has the potential to be one of the best purchases of the year, direct competition from the Google Pixel 8 but almost 100 euros cheaper . It is based on a 6.4-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2x flat screen, with FHD+ resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate; As with other Samsung models, the screen will be the great attraction of this model, although not the only one.
Compared to the previous model in the range, the S21 FE, we find a great improvement in the cameras , with a 50 Mpx main sensor accompanied by a 10 Mpx wide angle and an 8 Mpx telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, the latter something that the aforementioned Pixel 8 doesn’t even have it. The battery is 4,500 mAh, with 25 W wired charging and compatible with wireless charging.
Another compelling reason to buy this mobile is the support promised by Samsung, with four years of Android versions and five years of security updates ; and has already received One UI 6 based on Android 14. It is also built to last, with Gorilla Glass 5 and IP68 certification for dust and water resistance, with a design almost identical to that of the more expensive S23. It is available in Mint, Graphite, Cream and Purple colors, as well as Indigo and Tangerine, the latter two exclusive to the Samsung store.
The only drawback that could be put to this Galaxy S23 FE on paper is in the processor, which is the same Exynos 2200 that was used in the Galaxy S22 in its day and that brought so much controversy. Therefore, it does not use the Qualcomm processor of the S23, something that perhaps more users would have preferred.
Despite this, the Galaxy S23 FE is a pleasant surprise and a real ‘bargain’, especially if we take advantage of the launch offer, which leaves the 256 GB storage version at the same price as the 128 GB version : 709 euros.
