Samsung may be working on technology that improves the pixels of OLED screens

THE samsung has applied for a trademark for a new display technology that is expected to be used in future products. The South Korean company’s display manufacturing division appears to be making improvements to its OLED display technology.

According to information from the GalaxyClub website, the new brand is called “Lifelike Pixels” (Realistic Pixels, in free translation) and purports to enhance the images displayed on the company’s OLED screens for smartphones, tablets and more.

While we don’t know exactly how this technology will work, it may not be limited to just these two product categories. The company could eventually bring it to other devices, including AR/VR monitors and smartwatches.

Something that also draws attention is that this trademark registration was delivered on the same day that the company requested the registration of the trademark for the term Flex Hybrid, which is the new type of Samsung Display screen that folds and slides simultaneously.

If we were to speculate a bit, Lifelike Pixels could somehow relate to improved color reproduction via an OLED screen. We hope to see the feature used in future devices from the South Korean company.

It is worth noting that this feature may also be provided to other smartphone OEMs in the future. Therefore, other brands can license this technology to use in their devices. Will we see anything about at the launch of the Galaxy S23 series?
