Samsung announces which smartphones will receive the One UI 5.1 update

THE samsung confirmed this Monday (16) which will be the first smartphones that will receive the update to version 5.1 of the user interface One UI, which is based on android 13. The expectation is that the update starts to arrive in february.

According to the 9to5Google website, confirmation of the devices was obtained from the changelog of the latest update for the Galaxy Watch 5 smartwatch. In the file, the South Korean manufacturer explicitly mentions the term “One UI 5.1” and support.

The Galaxy Watch 5 software update mentions a new feature exclusive to One UI 5.1. This is the “Camera Controller” function, which allows users to zoom in on their wrists to control this feature on their paired cell phone.

The update note for the smartwatch also adds that this One UI 5.1 novelty will be available on “flagship models released after the galaxy s20 it’s the Z Flip”. That is, this includes the series Galaxy S21 and S22plus all the folding ones.

It is logical that some devices and tablets with a focus on the mid-range segment will also be updated to One UI 5.1, but everything indicates that they may not support this specific feature present in the Galaxy Watch 5.

The expectation is that the future series Galaxy S23 be the first to receive the update, to further enhance the launch of the devices. In the sequence, the cell phones mentioned above must have the update led.

The South Korean brand is expected to introduce the Galaxy S23 series with One UI 5.1 on February 1st, and the company has already released reservations for the devices.
