Although, traditionally, September and October are the busiest months in terms of launches and presentations, December is an interesting month because phones that arrive in China in the short term and the Western market in the coming months are usually presented. It is the case of OnePlus 12, which has just been presented and will be one of the first premium models of 2024.
The Chinese company has not kept anything up its sleeve and, within a design that sounds familiar to us OnePlus 11, we have a mobile phone that improves in all sections, especially in raw power and an extremely ambitious triple camera system. Next, Let’s go with all the details and features of the OnePlus 12.

A commitment to balance in the premium range
The first thing to say is that, in terms of design, it borrows a lot from the previous generation. The OnePlus 11 was a mobile phone that we liked because of the feeling in hand and the company seems not to have wanted to modify that aspect too much.
We have that camera module that seems to come directly from one of the sides, the characteristic Alert Slider makes an appearance once again and, if we only look at the back, we already say that it is a mobile phone similar to the previous one.
That design similar to the previous generation is also found in a screen that has a slight curvature on the sides, but in the rest of the specifications, everything has changed. We are before a panel 6.82-inch BOE OLED with 2K resolution and 120 Hz LTPO 3.0 refresh rate.
It has support for ProXDR and Dolby Vision images, as well as a system so that we can use it without problem even if it is slightly wet. This is interesting because, even if a mobile phone has protection against water, there are times when the touch sensor goes a little crazy in the rain.
The PWM is 2,160 Hz, it has its own chip to control the color (the OPPO P1) and the most interesting thing is the brightness. Chinese companies are betting on a spectacular level of brightness this second half of the year and OnePlus has not wanted to fall short. We have an HBM brightness of 1,600 nits with a peak of 4,500 nits.
Let’s go inside, since we have all the raw power. The OnePlus 12 has the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 like SoC. It is the latest Qualcomm processor and is called to fight against the Dimnensity 9300 of MediaTek by gross power in 2024. The battery is 5,400 mAh with 100 W wired and 50 W wireless charging. and we will have up to 24 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1 TB of UFS 4.0 storage.
The OnePlus 11 controlled high temperatures very well and OnePlus is going to once again integrate a huge heatsink in this generation: a 9,140 square millimeter capor chamber. The system will be OxygenOS 14 in the West on Android 14, although it arrives in China with OPPO’s ColorOS 14, a system that we have already been able to test.
And if we move on to the cameras, we have a configuration similar to the one we already liked in the OnePlus Openthe company’s foldable. The main sensor is the 50 megapixel Sony LYT-808. It is a different technology than the IMX because it is a stacked sensor that offers certain improvements in sections such as focus and light treatment.
It is a sensor with a size of 1/1.43 inches and the lenses have optical stabilization. It is accompanied by a 48-megapixel wide-angle Sony IMX581 and a 64 megapixel periscopic telephoto with a size of half an inch, aperture f/2.6 and a zoom equivalent to 70 millimeters, a 3x. With 64 megapixels, OnePlus has shown examples of a 6x digital “with optical quality” that will have to be verified in our tests.
