MediaTek He has launched he dimension 9200+, its latest flagship chipset for smartphones. It is an improved version of the Dimensity 9200 launched in November of last year and which is present in the vivo X90 Pro,

The new chip incorporates a much faster CPU and GPU, while the rest of the features remain unchanged. The first devices with the new MediaTek processor will arrive later this month.

Features of the MediaTek Dimensity 9200+

The Dimensity 9200+ is a 4nm processor with an octa-core CPU configuration. It features a 3.35GHz ARM Cortex-X3 main core, three 3.0GHz Cortex-A715 mid-cores, and four Cortex-A510 efficiency cores clocked at a maximum frequency of 2.0GHz. the Dimensity 9200’s CPUs run at 3.05 GHz, 2.85 GHz, and 1.80 GHz, respectively.

That’s a huge CPU frequency increase for a mid-year refresh from MediaTek. In the past, most of the time I equipped the “Plus” version with a faster CPU main core and GPU while keeping most other elements unchanged.

As for the GPU, the Taiwanese company has not revealed the exact frequency of the ARM Immortalis-G715 MC11 GPU of the Dimensity 9200+. However, he claims that the new chip improves performance by 17%. On the Dimensity 9200, the GPU runs at 981 MHz.

According to MediaTek, these improvements to the Dimensity 9200+’s CPU and GPU do not affect power efficiency. “Power consumption remains the same as on the Dimensity 9200,” ensures. However, the new chip does not bring any other notable improvement. Both chipsets are manufactured by TSMC using its second-generation 4nm process node. They share the ISP (image signal processor), cellular modem, connectivity options, AI processing unit, display specifications, connectivity, and much more.

Dimensity 9200+ supports cameras up to 320 MP with 8K video recording at 30 fps. It can drive Full HD+ displays with a refresh rate of up to 240Hz and WQHD displays with a refresh rate of up to 144Hz. The chip offers 5G sub-6GHz and mmWave connectivity with multimode and carrier aggregation.

It also supports the latest RAM and storage standards (LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4 storage). Last but not least, it features Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.3.

MediaTek has not mentioned any devices that will use the Dimensity 9200+. However, it has confirmed that the new chipset will be incorporated into the phones this month. There are rumors that Vivo is preparing new models of the Vivo X90 series with this chip.
