Discontent is growing among Instagram users, including prominent personalities, seeing how their favorite photo platform is more like TikTok. In this sense, Adam Mosseri, the main person in charge of Instagram, has used Twitter to post a video clip to make it clear which way the platform is heading.

In said video clip he affirms that the experience in tests of the feeds video-centric is still not good and should be improved before being extended to all users. It also acknowledges that the platform will continue to support photos, although over time it will focus more on videos, as it is the type of content that is most shared among users.

This means that users of this platform They will have to get used to seeing more video clips. And not only that, but users should get used to seeing more recommended publications as this is a way for published content to reach more users.

Mosseri makes this video clip one day after the Kardashian sisters shared an image complaining about the drift of the social platform, trying to make as much noise as possible with the sole purpose of getting the platform back to what it was in their origins under the text “Make Instagram Instagram again”.

In addition, they have an online petition in the same direction, which has already collected more than 100,000 signatures.

No one escapes the fact that both Facebook and Instagram, properties of Meta, try to become more like TikTok, the fast-growing platform, leaving behind the features with which they became known among the public of social networks.

Hence, the different modifications, both in content and in form, make both platforms more similar to TikTok. These changes also have their detractors, such as the aforementioned sisters, who want the return of the origins that were the main social networks of what is now called Meta Platforms.

The truth is that requests will be of no use since Meta has a clear orientation, with TikTok being a very important rival that is hot on their heels in the social media segment.
