Vacuum cleaner robot

A smart vacuum cleaner is a device that can be found in any home today. A device that helps us keep the house clean effortlessly and allows us to enjoy our free time while the floor at home is being cleaned. There are many models on the market and many features of these devices, but what they all have in common is that they are intelligent and work with an Internet connection.

You may have a smart vacuum cleaner, but at some point it doesn’t work as it should or even the app doesn’t allow you to perform some functions. Before calling technical service, you may want to try restarting or resetting your vacuum cleaner to see if doing so solves the problem and thus avoids the hassle of having to take it in for repair.

Difference between reboot and reset

On many occasions we tend to confuse these two terms thinking that they mean the same thing, but that is not the case. If we have defective electronic equipment and we want to try these alternatives, we must know the difference between one and the other before doing so.

First of all, rebooting may be the easiest step. It is the most similar to turn the computer off and on, only you can do it from the application or even from the buttons on the device itself. A restart is the first test you should perform to fix errors on your computer. By doing this, you will make the device turn off for a few seconds, cool down, and start working again when it is turned on again.

On the other hand there is the reset. This method is more aggressive with the equipment and causes it to return to factory settings. This is why you should think carefully before resetting your device. Returning the device to factory settings means that, after the reset, you will have your device in the same software conditions as when you took it out of the box new. Of course, you will have to keep in mind that when doing a reset, you will have to reconfigure your preferences on the device from scratch.

Now that you know the difference between restart and reset, we are going to explain how to reset your smart vacuum cleaner if it is failing. Although there are many models, we will teach you how to do it with the most popular models from the most used brands.

It will depend on the model but most of them have an option through the mobile phone application from which we can factory reset the robot. In configuration you must look for the “About” section accompanied by the name of the robot, if you have several models added. Once you’ve found it, search for “Remove device from account

This will indicate that the vacuum cleaner has been reset correctly. On the other hand, if you have a model of the 700 and 800 series, the process will be similar and we have to press the Clean button until the robot emits a noise that will warn that the process has been completed.

With practically the same functions, Xiaomi vacuum cleaners allow you to clean your house by controlling the vacuum cleaner from the robot’s own buttons or, if you prefer, from an app on your mobile.

Once we have done it, we must hold down for 10 or 15 seconds until the power button starts flashing. When it does, we remove our fingers and we will have to wait for a few minutes until the reset is complete.

Keep in mind, as in the case of all the previous ones, that it will be disconnected from the WiFi network and that the firmware will be the original so we will have to configure it again.
