The days of the Google Street View app are numbered, as Google has announced that it will stop supporting it in 2023 and that it will be removed from the iOS and Android store in the coming weeks.
That does not mean that Google Street View ceases to exist, Google does NOT close Google Street View, they are simply removing their app so that the experience should only be used within Google Maps.
The dedicated Street View app, available on both Android and iOS, allows us to see the streets of the world and contribute 360-degree images, but that’s something we can do from Google Maps without a problem. On the computer we only have to drag the yellow doll to any place on the map to see the streets, and from the mobile, within Google Maps, it can also be done easily. Google considers that the Street View app is redundant (it is not without reason), so it has decided to eliminate it.
If you want to contribute 360 images, you can continue to do so with the Street View Studio web application, it is not necessary to use the app.
Google has made it clear that Maps is one of its priorities, so it makes sense to attract the maximum number of users to the app, without distracting them from other applications that, at the time, did make sense.
Of course, many people will miss it, but it is a matter of time until they get used to using it from the ubiquitous Google Maps.
