realme has confirmed that the realme 11 Pro Plus 5G will be launched in Europe during the month of July. To keep the mystery, the Chinese did not inform a specific date for the device to start being sold here.

As for the other specifications, the realme 11 Pro Plus should be sold with a MediaTek Dimensity 7050 processor, 120 Hz AMOLED screen, 5,000 mAh battery with 100W charging and Android 13.

Samsung remains the leader in mobile phone sales in Latin America

According to numbers revealed by Counterpoint, Samsung leads the smartphone market in Latin America. Currently, the company has 41.7% of market share, while the second place is Motorola with 20%.

The chart also shows that Xiaomi rose from 10.9% to 12.1% and Apple also grew from 5.4% to 7.1%. Complete the podium, OPPO jumping from 2.8% to 5.1%.

In general terms, cell phone shipments in Latin America fell by 9.9% during the first three months of 2023. The main cause would be weak consumer demand in the period, unchanged from the fourth quarter of the previous year. Europe, Mexico and Chile had the biggest drops compared to 2022.

Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 may launch earlier

New information leaked in South Korea indicates that Samsung may anticipate the launch of the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 line to July 26.

These sources, who have access to Samsung’s plans, claim that the Unpacked event will be held in Seoul and can be followed through social networks in the rest of the world.

Some market analysts claim that this must happen so that the company can get ahead of Chinese competitors, while others call the strategy a “maneuver” to make the third quarter more attractive to investors.

For now, the company remains silent.

MediaTek may launch chipset with GPU developed by NVIDIA

New information released this week indicates that MediaTek has negotiated a partnership with NVIDIA for the development of a new Arm chipset that can integrate the very latest in the GPU field.

If the partnership goes ahead, the prediction is that the new MediaTek chipset will have a custom GPU on NIVIDIA, and it could be launched as early as 2024.

However, the sources of the leak are unanimous in saying that this joint work is not aimed at the smartphone market, but at notebooks. That’s because MediaTek’s intention is to provide chips for laptops that use “Windows on Arm”.

In addition to being a “good deal” for MediaTek, this partnership is also seen with good eyes by NIVIDIA executives, since there is a whole new market being formed around the Arm notebook segment.

Of course, this partnership is also a response to what Samsung has been doing with AMD.

Motorola confirms launch of new foldable phones in early June

In an announcement published on Twitter, Motorola confirmed that the new Razr 40 and 40 Ultra should be announced on June 1st.

iPhone 15 and 15 Plus should follow Pro models with 48 MP main camera

Rumors released this week indicate that the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus models should have a 48-megapixel main camera.

According to a research note by Jeff Pu, an analyst at an investment company, the lens of the most modest smartphones in the line will use a new sensor with three layers stacked, capable of improving image quality by capturing more light.

The expert still believes that the stacked sensor may suffer yield problems in manufacturing. In practice, this could result in delays in the production of future devices from the Cupertino giant.

For now, Apple has not commented on the matter, but we already know that to leave the standard models behind, the iPhones 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max must have a periscope lens.

Huawei Watch 4: line should receive feature that allows you to monitor diabetes levels

In a post shared this week, Huawei CEO Yu Chengdong confirmed that the Huawei Watch 4 line should be equipped with technology that allows you to assess the user’s blood sugar levels.

The technology is still in the beta stage and will undergo validation by a third-party company. Even so, the executive explained that Chinese users will already be able to experience the novelty as soon as the Huawei Watch 4 hits the market.

The feature isn’t supposed to replace medical equipment, but it’s supposed to use the watch’s sensors and combine the heart rate with other data to provide an estimate of the blood sugar level.

In addition, the watch can also alert considerable changes in this parameter.

Find out which cities have the best 5G in Europe

A study carried out by Open Signal revealed which cities have the best 5G connection in Europe.

As a result, Porto Alegre, Teresina, Curitiba and Florianópolis stood out with the best download speeds on the 5G network. The average speed in these capitals was between 391 and 408 Mbps.

Belo Horizonte, on the other hand, stood out for its high upload speed, with Porto Alegre in second place and São Paulo in third place.

Another curious fact involves the comparison between 4G and 5G networks, an example of which is that in Recife the speed of the new network exceeds by 18 times what is possible to achieve in 4G.

At the other end, we have the cities with the worst 5G and both are in the northern region. Macapá, in Amapá, and Manaus, in Amazonas. The 5G speed there is only 20 Mbps.

Finally, gamers will be pleased to know that in São Paulo, Belo Horizonte, Rio de Janeiro and Curitiba, the 5G network has the lowest latency and highest stability. That is, something essential to play.

Of course, the study only has capital because the 5G network began to be activated by them, but soon larger cities in the interior may appear in the ranking, since Anatel began to allow activation in several municipalities.
