As with any self-respecting design cycle, a period of more squared lines is always followed by one with softer lines, then squared again and so on. This alternation is a constant that we have often found in many sectors, the automotive sector in primis. A sort of “strategy” that allows users to perceive the idea of something totally new.

Apple is one of those companies that has definitely made this idea its own. Looking back on the iPhones made to date, in fact, we can see how it launched an iPhone 2G with more rounded lines and then moved to squared lines with the iPhone 4, returned to squared edges with the iPhone 6 and returned again to flat edges with the iPhone 12. After three years that saw only small aesthetic changes, mostly in the photographic sector, it would now be time for a change.

The design alternation between the first iPhone and those launched in the following years

According to the rumors that are starting to circulate in recent weeks, the iPhone 15 will have the display diagonals in common with the current iPhones but will be characterized by frames with softer lines. The design, as also pointed out by the leaker ShrimpApplePro, should be similar to that of the MacBook Pro which has a completely flat upper part and a lower part that gradually rounds off. A design that in turn recalls that of the iPhone 5C and that Apple has already reused for the MagSafe Battery Pack.

The leaker also confirms that the iPhone 15 Pros will have slimmer bezels and that the Dynamic Island, which made its debut on the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max, will be coming to all four iPhone models. Furthermore, the displays will also continue to use the Ceramic Shield coating which ensures greater resistance to scratches.

All these rumors are added to those already leaked so far which would see an iPhone 15 range with a USB-C port instead of the Lightning, further improved cameras and a periscopic optic only on the 15 Pro Max (or Ultra) version which
