Apple services continue to generate good revenue numbers for the manufacturer. This scenario helps in general in the financial results obtained by the company. However, it’s worth noting that App Store sales dropped by 5% over the last quarter. In 2021, store applications had a 41% increase in profits.
The information comes from Erik Woodring, an employee at Morgan Stanley, which is an investment company. The data came from a report he made that was based on what was released by Sensor Tower. In case you didn’t know, his job is to track and analyze app downloads and purchases. In the document, Woodring reported:
We believe recent App Store results make it clear that global consumers have devalued App Store spending in the short term as discretionary income is reallocated to areas of pent-up demand.
To understand this number, the reason for this drop is due both to the fact that customers have other economic concerns and to inflation. As a result, items such as software and other lighter items are not considered among the purchases that users make. To give you an idea, gaming revenue dropped by around 14%.
It is worth remembering that Apple stopped disclosing the recipe formally because of the pandemic. With this, it is not possible to know exactly what the revenue numbers are for the month of September. Still, the financial director of the manufacturer, Lucas Maestri, revealed that the growth should not exceed 12%.
As for services in general, revenue of US$ 19 billion (R$ 97 billion) was reported in June, much higher compared to 2021. This category includes repairs, Apple Music, Apple TV Plus, Apple One, AppleCare and Apple Card.
