Intel launched this Tuesday (07), without fanfare, two new exclusive processors for the Chinese market. It is the Core i5-13490F and Core i7-13790F, intermediate models that will leave the factory with more power in a new box that draws attention for its black color, differing from the shades of blue used in conventional models.

Nicknamed “Black Edition”, the new processors bring different specifications from Core i5-13400F and Core i7-13700F, such as clock improvements and cache increase, such that guarantee about 7% more performanceaccording to benchmark tests revealed by popular leaker @wxnod last Sunday (05).

The Core i5-13490F maintains the 10-core configuration, but with a maximum clock of 4.8 GHz (200 MHz more than the original model) and brings L3 cache increased to 24 MB. The Core i7-13790F has 16 cores and 33 MB of L3 cache, but its clock rate has been reduced by 100 MHz. The TDP of both new models remained unchanged.

Benchmarks shared by the leaker indicate that the Core i5-13490F achieves 779.7 points in single-core and 6834.5 points in multi-core in CPU-Z. The Core i7-13790F, in turn, appeared with 836 points in single-core and 12,139 points in multi-core — almost twice as much as the cheapest model — on the same platform.

And speaking of values, the Core i5-13490F is sold at Chinese retail for ¥1,599 (about R$1,220), and the Core i7-13790F retails for ¥2,999 (about R$2,289). It is worth remembering that the original models of these processors are sold with suggested prices of US$ 196 and US$ 359 (about R$ 1,016 and R$ 1,863), respectively.

While the new products are designed for desktops, Intel seems to be preparing a new generation of processors with a focus on high energy efficiency in the second half of 2023, the “Meteor Lake” line, which should finally debut the Intel 4 lithography equivalent to 7 nanometers and Xe-HPG GPU with up to 128 EUs.
