Data from a recent report shared by analytics company StatCounter reveals that Google’s market share in computers has grown significantly in recent months. Meanwhile, rivals like Apple’s Safari and Microsoft Edge compete for second place in the same category.
According to the survey, Chrome is present in 66.13% of PCs globally, leading the ranking, while Safari occupies the 2nd position with a market share of 11.87% against only 11% for Edge. The analysis indicates that Safari has increased its number of users in recent months, a result not seen by Microsoft’s browser.
In addition to these three most popular browsers, there are also popular alternative options among users, such as Mozilla Firefox and Opera, for example, which occupy the 4th and 5th positions with 6.65% and 3.09%, respectively. These indicators point to these apps as niche alternatives focusing on specific audiences.
This survey by StatCounter confirms the superiority of Google Chrome over other competitors, but also reveals the popularity of Safari and Edge on the desktop.
