The latest update for the game Minecraftreleased yesterday, on Wednesday (3), by the game’s development team, finally managed to solve a bug that was first noticed about 11 years ago.

The bug in question that was fixed prevented players from hearing footsteps when their avatar got too close to the edge of a block in Minecraft. The game was confused about the character’s relative position and understood that he was in the air.

Therefore, the problem did not identify that the player was on solid ground and, therefore, walking in that position did not make noise for other players. The flaw that was fixed in the last update was named by mojang like MC-1133.

According to the developer, the problem was solved with the parameter starting to calculate the player’s position based on the center of the block. Also, walking on the ocean floor will produce a stepping sound at a lower volume and pitch.

Other changes from the update include that players no longer need a forge model in the model slot, and the jukebox has been added to the Redstone Blocks creative tab. Also, other bugs were fixed. Check out the full changelog here.

It is worth remembering that the long-awaited spinoff of the game, called Minecraft Legends, it was also recently released. The new title is available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC (via Steam and the Microsoft Store).
