Reports have already said that the iPhone 15 could bring significant design improvements, now new information leaked by leaker ShrimpApplePro points out that Apple’s next top of the line could have an ultra bright screen that can reach up to 2500 nits. This value is impressive, considering that the recently announced Galaxy S23 lineup has a peak brightness of 1750 nits.
Such a high peak brightness screen could be beneficial for use in specific situations such as in sunlight, where visibility of screens is impaired. Obviously such a high brightness level would not be active all the time and would consume a lot of smartphone battery.
This improved level of brightness could be achieved through new technology for the OLED screens of the iPhone 15 Pro Max, such as a double layer of OLED to increase its durability and brightness capacity, a panel that should be present in the 2024 iPads.

On the other hand, 9to5Google points out that the same result could be obtained with a new layer of polarizer on the screen or the implementation of MLA (multi lens array) technology. These would be interesting solutions, as they do not imply increasing the screen’s energy consumption when its peak brightness is used.
It is interesting to mention that Ross Young, who is one of the biggest leakers of Apple news, did not confirm the information about such a bright screen on the iPhone 15 Pro Max, so we need more reports to say for sure whether the new generation of Apple phones really will have the brightest screen of 2023.
