When it comes to the iMac, Apple likes to take its time renovating it. The iMac M1 followed in 2021 just six months after the MacBook Pros with Apple Silicon, but it brought with it a completely new design. Instead of a case that bulged towards the back with almost pointed edges, there was a uniformly flat, board-like and very thin shape. The 21.5-inch 4K display gave way to a 24-inch 4.5K screen. Cupertino phased out the 5K iMac with 27 inches – so far there is no successor in sight.
Now an M3 processor is used instead of the M1 chip. We tested an iMac with an 8-core CPU, 10-core GPU, 24 GB of RAM and 1 TB of SSD. The model costs 2749 euros in this configuration.

The biggest innovation in the iMac 2023 concerns the SoC (System on Chip). Since introducing the angular design in May 2021, Apple has been selling its all-in-one computer with the first Apple Silicon, the M1. The M2 never found its way into the iMac.
