TV Box with Android undergoes analysis and spying malware is found

A researcher named Daniel Milisic bought one TV Box with android and concluded that the item carries a malware able to monitor traffic and download new viruses. In this sense, it is worth remembering that Anatel recently released an analysis on products like this that are not homologated and found several vulnerabilities.

The product, on the other hand, is T95 which is sold in stores like amazon, aliexpress and there are stores that sell the item in Europe as well. The box runs a processor AllWinner T616 and according to Daniel, who is a security expert, he has a possible variant of CopyCat, which appeared in 2017 and affected more than 400,000 Android devices at the time.

Another point that drew the researcher’s attention was the fact that a resource known as ADB is turned on and open to connections via Wi-Fi or wired networks. This contributes to the device suffering attacks via remote access, as well as the execution of commands on the item.

The worst part is that the malware cannot be uninstalled through traditional means within the product’s system. In this way, Daniel provided a custom script that manages to remove the malicious set. After all, not even factory reset can succeed in this action.

To avoid such problems, then, the best thing to do is not to use the product if the user does not have access to resources to remove the programs. Now, to buy a good TV Box for your home and with a safer system, TechSmart has an article selecting the best products in the category to buy.
