We have traveled to San José, California, to follow first-hand how the technology giant presents the new Samsung Galaxy S24, S24+ and Galaxy S24 Ultra, the first smartphones that open the door to the new era of mobile AI with which it intends improve your S series more than ever.
The well-known South Korean company launches a new generation of smartphones for its Galaxy S family. The new generation Galaxy S24
As everyone expected, Samsung has finally officially presented the new Galaxy S24 series, which includes three different models as in previous years: the S24, S24+ and S24 Ultra. The three models of the Galaxy S24 series come with similar features, such as their operating system: One UI 6.1 based on Android 14. On the other hand, these are the characteristics of their screens and memory:
- Samsung Galaxy S24 6.2-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X FHD+ screen (resolution 2,340 x 1,080 pixels) and an adaptive rate of 120 Hz. It has 8 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of memory.
- Samsung Galaxy S24+: 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X QHD+ display (resolution 3120 x 1440 pixels) and an adaptive rate of up to 120 Hz. It has 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB or 512 GB of storage.
- Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra: 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X QHD+ display (resolution 3,088 x 1,440 pixels) and an adaptive rate of 12Hz. It comes with 12 GB of RAM and 256/512 GB/1 TB of internal memory.
To all this, one of Samsung’s main novelties during the presentation is the arrival of AI to its mobile phones. With this new range of Galaxy S24, the firm presents all kinds of improvements in order to not only offer mobile phones with high quality performance, but also so that users have a more intelligent experience thanks to the AI integration. For this, for example, the Galaxy S24 Ultra is equipped with the powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor with which there is a significant improvement in NPU with the aim of processing an AI efficiently.
On the other hand, throughout the Galaxy S24 series You can enjoy a screen with a maximum brightness of 2,600 nits and they can also offer greater visibility outdoors thanks to the improved function with Vision Booster. Like, for example, screen protection has been improved by adding Corning Gorilla Armor on the Galaxy S24 Ultra, resulting in 50% greater durability and up to four times more resistance.
And in all models, Samsung brings different best designs by bringing smartphones with thinner bezels and larger screens: 6.2 inches for the S24 and 6.7 inches for the S24+, while the screen of the Ultra model repeats the same specifications as the S23 Ultra.
Regarding the photographic section, AI is very present in the Galaxy S24 series. For example, the function ProVisual Engine brings a series of tools with Artificial Intelligence so you will never worry about blurry or pixelated photographs again.
In this section, the S24 Ultra’s Quad Tele system stands out for having a 5x optical zoom lens. In addition to this, with Nightography, you can enjoy a 5x zoom with great results, both day and night as it has a larger pixel size. And the blurring of the cameras of this model is reduced, as well as more light is captured in low light conditions. These are the specifications of their cameras:
- Samsung Galaxy S24 and S24+: main sensor with 50 megapixels, 12 megapixel ultra wide angle and a third 10 megapixel telephoto sensor. On the screen, it has a 12-megapixel selfie camera.
- Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra: main camera with 200 megapixels, a sensor with 10 megapixels and x3 zoom, ultra wide angle with 12 megapixels and a fourth telephoto camera with 50 megapixels with x5 zoom. And on the screen, a 12 megapixel front sensor.
On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra battery It is 5,000 mAh and comes with 45W fast wired charging. In the case of the S24+, this model has a 4,900 mAh cell and a charging speed also compatible with 45 W via cable, while the standard Galaxy S24 stays with a 4,000 mAh battery and 25 W compatibility.
And among other details, we must mention the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra compatibility with S-Pen. In addition, this entire new generation is presented with the following connections: 5G, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 5.3 and the Galaxy S24/24+ comes with WiFi 6E. And one of the new features in this regard comes for the Galaxy S24 Ultra, since it debuts with the Wi-Fi 7.

What is Galaxy AI
Samsung has already presented its first phones with Galaxy AI, so we will finally have smartphones in which more importance is given to Artificial Intelligence. With it, the South Korean giant aims to provide a series of functions with which to improve the daily lives of its users. As, for example, with the tool Live Translatewhich enables real-time text and voice translations, even on calls from the Samsung phone app.
To this we must add Interpreter, a tool with which live conversations can be translated on a split screen so that people on the other side can read the transcription of what the other person is saying. And it works even without data or WiFi.
There is also Chat Assist, which manages to perfect the tone of the conversation. Just like AI will already be integrated into the Galaxy S24 keyboard so that people can translate messages and emails in up to 13 different languages in real time.
