A few days before its official release, PC gamers are on the lookout for the slightest benchmarks of the RTX 4090 and the least we can say is that it did not disappoint us on Overwatch. Indeed, the graphics card can achieve no less than 507 FPS on the latest competitive game from Blizzard, when it is configured in 1440p.

That being said, it is indeed interesting to know what the best hardware currently available on the market is capable of offering in terms of performance on the competitive FPS. It turns out that currently the most powerful graphics card on the market is Nvidia’s RTX 4090.
We warned you: the GPU is a real powerhouse. A benchmark, produced by Nvidia, testing the capabilities of the latter on Overwatch 2 once again proves it to us. Note that these performances were obtained in 1440 p, and not 4K, but all the same! Especially since the graphics were pushed to the maximum during the benchmark, all accompanied by an Intel Core i9-12900K CPU. For comparison, the RTX 3080 hits 249 FPS, the RTX 370 195 FPS, and the RTX 3060 122 FPS. As for the RTX 4080, it displays the game in 368 FPS in its 16 GB version and 296 FPS in its 12 GB version.

If these figures are impressive to say the least (which is an understatement at this stage), let’s keep in mind that they are primarily aimed at professional players, who are also numerous on Overwatch. Ordinary mortals will be perfectly fine with a 144 FPS obtained at 1080p by the much more affordable RTX 3060. Especially since if despite everything, the 500 FPS catch your eye, you should not forget to equip yourself with a monitor capable of displaying such a frame rate.
