Simply NUC Topaz 2, new batch of 4×4 with Alder Lake

The American assembler Simply NUC has just presented Topaz 2a new batch of its powerful mini-PCs whose renewal involves the integration of the twelfth generation of Intel Core in the three corresponding models.

In effect, we are talking about a new compact type equipment, 4×4 inches, in the purest style of the Intel NUC Studio, but anticipating the latter (to version 12 that is to come) with a launch that, that yes, it is more restrained in terms of offer and features.

Be that as it may, these vana mini computers are about to celebrate a decade since the appearance of the first models and it seems that they have their place in the market guaranteed, with good arguments, moreover: they are small and compact, affordable in relation to the power they offer and, consequently, capable of replacing office and other equipment.

The new Simply NUC Topaz 2 are distinguished in three models whose difference is reduced to the processor that each mounts, with up to 12 cores and 16 combined threads:

  • NUC12TZi3, with Intel Core i3-1215U starting at $599.
  • NUC12TZi5, with Intel Core i5-1240P starting at $699.
  • NUC12TZi7, with Intel Core i7-1260P starting at $849.

Beyond the processor, all three Simply NUC Topaz 2 models include integrated graphics Intel Xe graphics with support for one 8K display or up to four 4K displaysas well as shared memory and storage options in its base configuration, starting with 4 GB of DDR4 RAM and 256 GB NVMe PCIe M.2.

The three Simply NUC Topaz 2 models also share the connectivity options, which are really perfect for these 4×4s: dual Ethernet with speeds of 2.5 GB and TPM, WiFi 6 AX200, Bluetooth 5.1, Display Port HDMI 2.0, 4 USB 3.2 , 2 USB 3.2 Type-C…

Of course, the Simply NUC Topaz 2 starts from a base that can be greatly expanded: up to 64 GB of RAM and up to 6 TB of SSD storage, 4TB for the first drive, to which you can add a second M.2 SATA for up to 2TB of space. Other enhancements and customizations include different chassis and colors or accessories to increase connectivity options.

The new Simply NUC Topaz 2 with Alder Lake can be reserved now, although they won’t go on sale until the end of the month and won’t ship until July. And although in this case it is about international shipments, what advances this news is the prompt arrival of a new batch of Intel NUC and compact devices of the style.
