nothing phone (1) receives nothing os 1.1.2: here's what changes

Nothing could already be working on a new smartphone: a cheaper version of its first model that went on the market just in the past few days. To anticipate the possibility of the arrival of a hypothetical Nothing Phone (1) Lite is The Mobile Indian, which cites several sources in the supply chain.

Apparently the technical similarities will be multiple – one can almost say that the main difference with the Phone (1) will be the absence of the sophisticated LED lighting system on the back. In its place there will be a simple glass back cover; It is interesting to note that this could free up some space and therefore allow you to use a slightly larger battery, from 5,000 mAh. Another “plus” could be the presence in the package of a charger, from 42 W maximum, although the smartphone only supports 33 W as the original model.

In practice, therefore, the technical data sheet should be as follows:

  • SoC:
    • Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G + 6nm TSMC
    • Adreno 642L GPU
  • Display: 6.55 “AMOLED HDR 10+, FHD +, 120 Hz refresh
  • Memory: starting from 6 + 128 GB
  • Cameras:
    • Principal: 50 MP
    • Ultra Wide: 50 MP
    • Front: 16 MP
  • Connectivity: Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi 6, USB-C, NFC, dual band GPS, 5G SA / NSA
  • Audio: Dual stereo
  • Sensors: Accelerometer, gyroscope, magnetometer, brightness, proximity, front RGB
  • Battery: 5000 mAh
    • 33 W charging (42 W battery charger included)
    • 15W wireless charging
    • 5W reverse wireless charging
  • Fingerprint sensor integrated into the display
  • OS: Nothing OS based on Android 12
  • IP53 certification

Note that we do not know at the moment if the components used in this smartphone will be exactly the same as Phone (1); this means that some secondary specs may actually be less prestigious (or more, who knows). According to the source, the smartphone could cost around 25,000 Indian rupees for the basic configuration, with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage (Phone (1) starts at 8 + 128). For comparison, the Phone (1) in India starts at 33,000 rupees. At the exchange rate this means € 308 and € 406 respectively; doing the due proportions, and calculating that in Italy the Nothing Phone (1) starts at € 499, it is not impossible speculate on a price of 399 € for the Phone (1) Lite.

It is worth pointing out that Nothing has denied the existence of the device, but you know – sometimes companies use a bit of fussiness and semantic creativity to distort reality according to their needs. In short, in practice the idea is intriguing and more than plausible, we will see if it will come true or not.
