Approved! Microsoft Surface Pro 9 is dismantled and has a good repairability note

The new Surface Pro 9 was announced in October by Microsoft with renewed specs and identical design to the previous generation. Today we are going to find out what it looks like on the inside thanks to a video from iFixit where the notebook/tablet was completely dismantled and still received a good repairability rating.

This generation’s improvements become evident when the Surface Pro 9 begins to be disassembled, revealing an adhesive-backed screen and cables that are positioned in a way that prevents accidental damage. Another strong point of the structure is the door for replacing the SSD which, although it has a different format, can be easily accessed.

The good impressions continue with parts that can be easily removed with a very organized internal structure including a battery that is not glued by stickers, but screws, and the processor, which can be accessed more easily in this new version.

In this way, it is now much simpler to clean the Surface Pro 9 fan, change the thermal paste and repair other internal components with periodic maintenance to keep the device working properly for a long time.

These are key details that earned the Surface Pro 9 a 7 out of 10 iFixit repairability rating, but this could still change as future reviews will still take into account replacement parts and repair manuals that will be made available in the coming months from Microsoft.
