Samsung will launch a new generation of the Odyssey Neo G9, one of its most advanced gaming monitors that arrived in Europe with a suggested price of R$13,599. The launch confirmation was given by AMD during the presentation event of the Radeon RX 7900 XTX and XT video cards, such that they will be able to handle absurd resolutions.
According to the hardware manufacturer, the Odyssey Neo G9 will be the world’s first gaming monitor with an ultrawide screen and 8K resolution. In addition to this leap in resolution over the current model, the display will continue to use Samsung’s Quantum Mini LED technology, ensuring high contrast, advantageous brightness and greater energy efficiency.
AMD did not reveal much information about the partner company’s new gaming monitor — which is also liaising with the hardware giant to produce Exynos line chips with RDNA GPUs. You can see in the image above that the screen will support AMD FreeSync and will have DisplayPort connectivity interface — just like its predecessor.
It is worth remembering that the first generation of the monitor is equipped with a screen with an ultrawide aspect ratio of 32:9, a refresh rate of 240 Hz and a response time of just 1 millisecond. Despite the increase in resolution in the next model, details about possible changes in the display frequency have not yet been revealed.
The Odyssey Neo G9 should have its new version presented during CES 2023, an annual technology event that takes place in the first weeks of January. There is also expectation for the launch of new smart TVs with OLED and micro-LED technologies at the time, but so far, Samsung has not commented on the matter.
