Google has released a new update for the Chrome browser adding a function that uses the color theme applied in the browser to create a custom color palette. This feature is available for users of the Android app and has just arrived in the Canary version and will be available to everyone in the stable build in the coming weeks.
In the case of Android, the color palette is based on the smartphone’s wallpaper, while on PC the colors are defined from the theme applied through the Web Store. The novelty was discovered by the user @Leopeva64, who published a video on his Twitter profile showing the application of the dynamic theme in the side menus and texts.
the recent Dynamic theme integration with menus only seems to work in Chrome’s dark mode, that is, for the time being it is not yet compatible with the clear version. To test this improvement, you need to be testing the Canary v114 version, as the stable build is not yet available.
The developer hasn’t revealed details about the feature and there’s no mention of it in the changelog, so we don’t know whether or not the integration of the palette with the applied theme will be released to everyone.
Check out how it works below:
In Chrome Canary there is a subtle change in the menus, the color of the text now matches the Chrome theme color, it is more noticeable in some colors than in others:https://t.co/bWqxKvKLuv
