Blocking a user could be much simpler with the new option that the WhatsApp team is preparing.

Although it is not difficult to block anyone from the current version of WhatsApp, with the new dynamics the task is further simplified.

WhatsApp will improve the blocking option with this new dynamic

The WhatsApp team is working on a small improvement for one of the most popular features of the app. One of the options you use when you don’t want a person to bother you on WhatsApp with their messages and calls. And of course, you don’t want to see their statuses either. Yes, the famous lock option.

Until now, when we want to block a contact, or a person who writes to us for the first time, we have to open the chat and look for that option from the menu with the three dots. Although the dynamic is simple, it forces us to have to open the person’s chat to perform this action.

With the new option that WhatsApp is preparing, this step will not be necessary. As WABetaInfo mentions, we will have a shortcut or the option directly in the menu of the main page. So when you want to block a contact or a stranger, you just have to select their chat and from the top menu, choose “Block”.

You block it without opening the chat, just like when you want to mark a chat as read or pin it. Taking into account that it is still under development, all the details of its operation are not yet known with certainty. It may simply serve to block a chat individually, or give the possibility to block a group of contacts just by choosing them from the main page.

So we will have to wait for future updates of the beta version of WhatsApp to see if there are more indications of this option. Let’s remember that there are many beta functions that hope to see the light of day in 2023. So it will be a year with many new features for the WhatsApp app.
