I want to connect the Nano-Ax handicraft board with the PICAXE-08M2 microcontroller to my notebook via USB. To do this, I installed the Windows driver for the board’s CH340G adapter chip. When you connect the board, a virtual COM port should actually appear, but that doesn’t work. Do you have any tips?

Yes: Try a different USB cable. The Nano-Axe-Board has a micro-USB socket, depending on the notebook you need a cable with USB-A or USB-C at the other end. Some micro USB cables are of poor quality, in rare cases they are pure charging cables without data lines. Sometimes the handicraft board or notebook are just picky, at least it works amazingly often after changing the cable. Otherwise try a different USB socket on your computer or insert a USB hub in between if available.

If none of that helps, here’s another tip: You need administrator rights to install the CH340G driver.
